New moons reflect the ending of one cycle and the beginning of another 28 day cycle. It is within this period of time that the energy that we hold for ourselves, as well as others, can be shifted into a new light. A fresh start.
New moons carry the capability of harnessing love, joy, and creativity into our lives again, if we so choose. On September 20th, we will have a new moon in Virgo!! BIG healing going on. Some like to see Virgo minds as a non-stop blender, or a generator running on high speed(with my moon sign being in Virgo I'm very much attached to this statement). But the Virgo also symbolizes the healer, the protection and overall wellness of mind, body, and spirit. So this would be a great time to think about how you might want to implement a new form of self care. This could be as easy as pie. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant. Sit on your couch for an extra hour after work everyday, or make an edible face mask out of dark chocolate and honey, at least that's what I would do.
As we tune into a higher form of self care, it can create openings on a universal level. So, this is also an important time to remember how we can be throwing ourselves into the bigger picture- towards community. This shift from the individual onto the collective is highly needed, especially when we tune into the planetary concords surrounding us everyday. Reach out to your neighbors and your loved ones, or volunteer at an urban farm. Each step is crucial and has the opportunity to be long lasting. Happy new moon to everyone!
