Today was my last day of juicing and honestly, I’m going to miss it. I feel SO GOOD. I am so aware of my body. I am more alert and I feel overall cleaner; mind and body.
This morning I woke up and didn’t even need that half cup of coffee I had been drinking throughout this cleanse. I did have some green tea after a warm cup of lemon water, and during my walk to work I sipped at another Root Balance. I had two juices throughout my day at work. One was a 24oz green juice (collards, celery, cucumber, pear and LITE pineapple), and then before I headed home for the day I had a 16oz carrot, pear, parsley and celery juice.
Considering today is my last juice day, I did feel that I should ease my stomach back into solid foods, so for dinner I had a Thai the Knot cold-pressed juice (one of my favorites! cucumber, pineapple, lime, and lemon grass), and I sliced some cucumber and mashed some avocado for a dip. I am comfortably full and honestly didn’t need to eat that dish, I just, again, felt like it was a smart idea to ease into solid foods again.
I do have one more day of my cleanse, the last raw food day, but as I stated in my first post, my diet already consists of so much raw food that its really not THAT difficult for me, my only worry is not taking what I learned throughout these past three days and acting on it.
While juicing, I really became aware of my relationship to food, both as fuel and as how I associate food as an emotional release. Not allowing myself to come home and gorge on snacks before dinner, or to not think about what and where to eat socially… its a GREAT feeling.
I understand how my body wants to feel, and even though I am not 100% there yet, I definitely know that I am on the right track. Juice cleanses might seem intimidating, but with the right guidance and knowledge, you will feel more comfortable and fuller than you’d ever expect. I’m so glad I used this cleanse as my first steps of my wellness journey.
